Connection
Before you can use Excelerator to post into the Sage system, you need to set up the connection details.
You will require the following information:
SQL Server
- Server name
- Sage database name
- A user name and password with rights to access the Sage database (or use the SQL integrated security)
- Details of any ledgers held in seperate databases (as defined in XXFILESDD system keys)
Oracle
- If a service is not set up, a will need to know the Oracle server and service name
- Oracle service name
- Oracle schema for the Sage system (enter in the "database" field)
- An Oracle user name and password with rights to access the Sage database
- Details of any ledgers held in seperate databases (as defined in XXFILESDD system keys)
Informix
- Setnet connection details if not set up already
- The ODBC name set up
- An Oracle user name and password with rights to access the Sage database
- Details of any ledgers held in seperate databases (as defined in XXFILESDD system keys)
TECC
- ODBC Connection name
- User name/password if security is set up
- The information required for setting up the TECC ODBC connection is not within the scope of this document.
From the Adminstration screen (see Starting the software ), Select File > Connection.
This displays the following screen

After entering the details, click Test to confirm that the connection succeeds. Then click OK.
NOTE:Switching companies can be made easier for users by setting up these details once in a central database definitions table. See Central Database Definitions
Click OK again to confirm the details, and then Close.
